Comfortable Stretch Fabric

Primeflex™

Versatile performance fabric featuring superior stretchability and recovery, also lightweight and durable

Features

Dream stretchable fabrics start here

Bicomponent structured nylon fiber delivers high stretchability as well as smooth feel.
This versatile fabric suits athletic wear to casual wear and even business outfits. Debuting a reference standard in stretch fabrics offers new potential for garments by redefining stretchability.

New Feel Stretch Nylon

Primeflex™ is a new feel stretch nylon textile. It uses bicomponent structural nylon fiber that bonds two nylon polymers having different performance characteristics into a single thread. Superior dyeability ensures rich colors and its high durability withstands alkali processing and chemical washing.

Environment-friendly material development in action Hybrid material from partially bio-based raw material and recycled PET

In general, recycled PET materials had problems offering superior stretchability, but Toray’s advanced polymer quality control and spinning technologies enabled excellent stretch along with environmental friendliness for stretch fabrics using recycled PET.
In addition to superior elongation and recovery properties, Toray managed to make 68% of the components bio-based, making Primeflex™ more sustainable and with less impact on the earth.

POLYESTER Version

Toray Primeflex™ features a bi-component cross-sectional structure that bonds two separate polymers with different characteristics.
Its high stretchability and soft handfeel provide excellent wearing comfort, which makes PrimeflexTM a versatile stretch fabric suitable for a variety of applications.

  • High elasticity plus superior recovery properties allows Primeflex™ to flexibly follows body movement
  • Superior comfort with soft, smooth touch plus a lightweight construction
  • Maintains shape with dimensional stability
  • Easy care

ENVIRONMENTALLY
RESPONSIBLE Version

TORAY Primeflex™ stretch fabric features a bicomponent structure fiber comprising two different polymers, each having its own distinct characteristics. In addition to its PTT/PET composite structure, TORAY uses partially plant-based PTT to give Primeflex™ sustainability as well as extraordinary functionality.
Previously, it was difficult to produce superior stretchability using conventional recycled PET. Making full use of TORAY’s polymer quality control technology and advanced spinning technology enabled TORAY to offer a new Primeflex™ stretch fabric version that is even more environmentally responsible using recycled PET. Continuing to maintain high stretchability and recovery properties, TORAY was able to make fully 68% of Primeflex™’s structural components environmentally friendly. And Primeflex™ will continue its evolution to create a truly earth-friendly sustainable fabric.

MICROFIBER Version

Toray Primeflex™ features a bi-component cross-sectional structure that bonds two separate polymers with different characteristics.
Its high stretchability and soft handfeel provide excellent wearing comfort, which makes Primeflex™ a versatile stretch fabric suitable for a variety of applications.
Newly developed Microfiber version uses Toray original NANODESIGN TECHNOLOGY which enable Primeflex™ to achieve even more delicate and gentle touch of microfiber while keeping comfort stretch, good stretch recovery and quick dry function of Primeflex™.

NYLON FIBER Version

Primeflex™ stretch fabric uses a bicomponent cross-sectional structure nylon fiber that effectively bonds together two separate polymers, each with its own characteristics.
The result is a distinctive structure that sets new dimensions in stretchability and feel.
The fabric is also environmentally friendly because the nylon polymer is partially plant-based.
